I do not consider sports "stars" to be much of role models at all, so I can't really vote in this. I believe they get paid much more money than they should just to "entertain" when the people who can really make a difference (e.g. teachers, nurses, etc.) make so much less and get less recognition when they are the ones that SHOULD be recognized.

Not to be rude, but I hardly think that someone like Dara Torres (who has won a silver medal, yay!) makes excessive amounts of money per year. She just loves what she does.

Trust me, I understand that. I respect and admire many of the Olympic athletes (I want to see if Michael Phelps can get that eighth gold), because it is obvious how dedicated they are and such. My problem with actually with professional athletes (like the members of the US Olympics basketball team) who are, more often than not, in it for the money, not for the love the sport. And, did you see Torres in the relay? That was impressive!

I can completely agree with your point then. I used to swim competitively, so I've always had a soft spot for swimmers, which often times don't make the big bucks.
And yes, I was watching the relay, I was so excited. The team did an awesome job, even for second place. They beat the previously standing American record by quite a bit!

Published where?  Is missbimbo.com getting asked to do market research on behalf of other companies?

Yes, very curious indeed.
