For Christmas, my parents gave to me a new computer, so I have been downloading different types of things for my computer, and one of them was iTunes.
So here's the problem:
My iPod was connected to my old computer's iTune's library (I am not sure if that's the word, but if I translate it from Spannish to English, the word iTune uses is library) and there I have all my songs.
A while ago, I downloaded iTunes for my new laptop and connected my iPod to it. iTunes said my iPod can't be connected to both iTunes, so it seems I will need to erase the songs or something.
My question is: can I pass the songs from my iPod to iTunes, without needing to do the 'hard work' of transfering all my songs from one computer to another?
Thank you (:
Good night.

As far as I know, no. I've had 2 iPods and I used to work in the MP3 section of Best Buy and at least then there wasn't a way to do it. It's due to copyrights on the songs. It's not too difficult to transfer the songs, though. I've done it with my dad's computer and my boyfriend's before.

No, I'm sorry dear, but the only way is to re-download all the songs onto your new laptop. It sucks, but it's the only way :\.

Aww, this makes me sad.
Maybe I can transfer the songs (like I did with ALL photos, documents, etc) with a pendrive. Now I need to know where to store all the things in the same way like in my other computer (too bad for me I didn't do it and it was a computer profesional
)
EDIT: Forgot to say: thank you so much, guys.

Are your computers networked if so transfer your Itunes Library from your old PC to your new one. You will need to register your new PC to your Itunes account and probably should un-register your old PC. I think you can have up to Five PC per account And as many Ipods and Iphones as you have. My wife Vipra and I keep all are music on an external hard drive to make it easier to switch PCs. You should not have to redownload each song. Here is a link that should help you.

Try taking the songs from your first library, put them onto a flashdrive. Then, take the flashdrive to your other computer, save them in windows player or however. Then the new itunes should have it where you can convert the music from your compy (that is in windows player and cds and what not) into the itunes. That way, when your itunes wants to erase your music to sync, it will all be there. :]

I am not sure how but there is a way to do it. Keeping looking for answers. My sister has done it many times but I can't ask her how as she is in Hawaii with her boyfriend right now. She should be back in a few days if you can wait that long but I am 90% sure there is a way to do it.

No, you cant apple protects its songs, and by you doing that would be technically illegal even though you bought the songs. Pretty much all you can do is jailbreak it ,which im pretty sure is illegal too, so i wouldnt do that.

Transferring owned songs between your personal computers is not illegal. Itunes will let you do it fine.

This is the article from Apple's support site on how to transfer songs between multiple computers. Certainly not an illegal act.
