Sweetmint mentioned in the original post, to add your own images you can use different websites that allow you to upload your photo and then you can use the link from that to add the picture.  This includes imageshack, and tinypic.  I tried using imageshack myself but I didn't really understand it. . .maybe you will have more luck ^_^

I always use Photobucket.  After you upload your image to that site, use the IMG code provided; just remember that if you are putting the image in your signature, you have to make sure that the IMG part of your code is in lowercase letters.  If you are using the image for a contest, you can post it without adjusting the code.
