You can always hide them with plugs. I've worked in an office and nobody knew I had my ears stretched (and they're big enough to stick a finger through)

I just voiced my opinion, but I obviously shouldn't do that as then I'll be "small minded and judgemental" and I only said that I thought one small thing was digusting, what happens if I move on to more important things like child negelect
I didn't say anything about tattoos or piercings Britt, and yet you insulted me? You didn't even mention the topic at hand.
Shouldn't it be up to your parents to decide if and how she can modify her body? (And if they do permit it, it's not "child neglect") Do you really feel right imposing your morality on your sibling, and possibly ruining your relationship?

best thing is to clean them LOTS aspecialy when you first get it done and yea dont take it out and put it back in to often.
I went to a 2 to a 3 to a SIX then to a 8 so start with a twoWhat do you mean start with a two? Two is bigger....
I think she means mm
Different people use different sizes, like some people use mm, and others use gauges...
I can use both, cause my ears are 1.6mm at the moment, which is a 14G i think?

stretched lobes look awesome! I have 4mm but stretch them up every now and again,
they DO grow back if you don't get them too big,
they do whiff a bit lol but not if you keep em clean
I have a tribal hook thing in mine and I love it. I've accidentally worn it to job interviews
and still got the job!
If you're into it, get it done.
go with what you want, but personally i totally support em

That's actually a really good idea! Some simple black plugs would look like regular earrings, especially if your hair was long enough to cover the backs of your ears.

Stretched ears are considerably more accepted in the workplace than most people assume. Now most of the people I know with tunnels or plugs are guys, but I think the response towards women isn't that different.
Here's a perfect example from a guy who posts on the other forum I frequent in a discussion regarding stretched ears:
"I make $46K annually. I work at a law office in north waterloo. I am 21 years old and have 00 stretched ears and a nose ring. I put on a shirt and tie and I go to work everyday and I honestly dont think anyone has ever commented on my appearance. Today I had the sleeves rolled up on my dress shirt and had the majority of the tattoos on my left arm exposed for the entire day including a meeting with our project manager. "
Never be afraid to be who you are.

not the best reason, if you don't go past about 8mm it looks great. Just cos he made himself look bad because of it doesn't mean yours will

I have two lobe piercings and the first is at a 4 gauge and I love it ^_^. It's not too big, not too small. Just my size lol. I've had it at a 2g but let them close up when I lost an earring. Lil' bugger just fell right out >.<
They closed up just fine and I was wearing regular 18-20g posts in no time. I'm debating whether or not to go back to 2g...
The family hasn't noticed. I had solid stone plugs in at 2g and they thought they were regular posts, even after looking at them teehee.
I wouldn't go much larger. Guys or girls it just gets distracting lol.

I've heard stuff about 2g being the 'point of no going back' but further up the post somebody said 10mm back...
Can anybody confirm anything?

I stretched mine over the past week and mine's now about the size of a pea?
My mother hates it but she'll live.

I LOVE GAUGED EAR LOBES! my favs are like a black spiral stretcher or a mediumish hollow metal plug with like a 14g captive bead ring thru it. i personally only don't have one because i love big danglely earings just a wee bit more so i gauged my cartilage a little
go for it if you want it! all these older/more conservative people are in the past. younger people are the future and will be filling all these jobs that are not currently liberal, which will make them more liberal.

I think it's disgusting. Deforming yourself to conform to the non-conformists? That's how I see it... I think it's quite pathetic really, and when my wee sister started stretching hers, I took it out in her sleep. I think it looks common, cheap and desperate. And disgusting.
n/m i don't need banned over this one.

My friends have it done and it does look quite nice when you have a plug in, I personally would't get it done but thats just because it hurts when you stretch it.

I'm not into em, but it's not like I think they're horrible or wrong or anything, I do think it's important to clean them so they don't get stinky though ^_^ as long as your gauged ears are clean *shrugs* I don't care much

I really wish I knew more about ear stretching. Does it. . .like. . hurt? Haha. I heard that it can be quite stinky though O_O
P.S. I wrote that before I saw the post before mine. Silly me ^_^

Beauty is all relative to different cultures and people. I am not about to judge another culture because they see something as beautiful that I may find strange. Heck, sometimes I wish that we lived back in the day when being round and portly was considered beautiful. Just because something is shocking does not mean that it is wrong or "ugly".

i was going to do it but just changed my mind

I tried to stretch mine a while back, I got up to 8g. I love the way it looks but apparently my earlobes are super elastic and the plugs just fall out in my sleep a few days after I put a new size in. My ears have gone back to normal now, though...you'd never be able to tell I had anything bigger than a regular earring in there. I'd do it again (and go bigger) if I found a good way around that.

i had my nasal septum pierced (14g) for a bit and was at a college party when some random guy walked up and was like "i had one too, does yours smell yet?" LOL what? once i realized what he was talking about i told him no. i must have kept mine cleaner than he did.
