I do believe that's just excess pages due to some deleted replies within the threads? x

I was reading your rules for the forum and I was just wondering if you could clarify for me, and probably other Bimbos, what is the difference between a newer player and an experienced one? Is it the level you've reached, how many days you've played? Since the punishments are different for the two I just think this should be explained.
Thank you!

a new player would be some one who just signed up within the last couple of weeks.an old player is some one who hs been on the forums for more than 2 weeks at whch point we assume that they have had ample time to read the rules.an older player is someone who has 30 days or longer here.
How many of you wander blindly around a forum for more than a couple of weeks, but yet post likea mad hen and don't ever take 5 minutes to read the rules of that forum?I know I read the rules as soon as I join a forum.

Yes, I know. It could be a glitch, it could be because it is commonly used as a derogatory term. But I'll find out... may take a few days, so just wanted to respond to let you know I'm on it.

Not everyone's as wise as you Bebe. In particular the under 16.
I'd like to ask a quesition/make a suggestion:
I think the best way to meet the needs of those who struggle to identify the rules would be to make a new Forum (preferabley above or just below the 'anouncements') that is specifically just for the rules. The rules of these forums seem to be all over the place, there's the 'game rules' in the announcements and Chris's recent post on rules and warning guidelines. There also seem to be several 'unwritten' rules concerning revealing the 100 day prize, levels 21+ and under 18's posting pictures of themselves (if this is written somewhere I apologise, but I can't seem to find this rule anywhere). I think it'd be great to have a forum with posts clearly identifying ALL the game rules, posting conduct, mods rules and guidelines and ofcourse the terms of banning and warnings. This would be great for all players to refer back to, but it'd be particularly useful for younger or non-english speaking players who may stuggle to clearly identify where the rules are. I know the announcements forum is supposed to have this purpose, but it has become quite busy and doesn't seem to have much order to it...the name of the forum also means that some players may not think of it as the place to seek out the rules.
Thanks.
Also, as for the 'experienced' player = 2 weeks on the forum thing....although I have to say it's a pretty short time period, it's not completely unreasonable. I just hope though that those over the 2 weeks are still being treated with a level of understanding and sympathy. Remember, not only are there language barriers, there's also the possibility of users with learning difficulties as well. I think maybe treating those with say below 50-100 posts, no matter how long they've been registered, with a little more patience might be more fair.

Gueld rest assured no one who has diffiulty with english would be auto banned or warned unless it was a seriaous offense such as threatening a member here.thats why diccipline is on a case by cse basis. however I think your suggestion about direct game related topics such as dont say what the 100 day surprise should be made vailable on the forums to read so there are crytal clear instead of hazy ideas. posting stuff only in one section is not really viable any longer ,as such we are trying to correct things quickly .
I well make the suggestion.

I agree with all these ideas. It is often hard for a newbie to find the rules since they are all over the place and not in one set area titled 'Rules'. I especially agree that two weeks seems a little unexperienced. People are still testing the waters at that point and do not have a full grasp on the flow of the forums. I like the idea of a posting number. Whatever it is though it should be clearly marked somewhere in the rules if there are certain differences in the way those players will be handled.

Bebe, I dont think you meant it but the end of your post came off as harsh and not overly helpful. When new rules are posted people are going to have questions and considering this forum is for Q&A with the mods I felt it was pretty safe to ask a question that I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering. It just came off as sarcastic and uncalled for. I'm not sure what you intention was but I felt I should bring up that it put me on the defensive.

I really believe Starlicious .my tone was not sarcastic and I truly believe that you did some "selective " reading rather than reading the entire post in context also in red is the notice that each case will be decided on an individual basis.Posting on the forums is a privelege not a right. and as with any privilege it come with responsibilities and that is to read the rules. when a person is banned they are banned from the forums not from playing the game.the forums are a privilege.I do not think I was sarcastic and it was not ment that way either. out of my entire nswer . to your question I find that its interesting how you managed to pounce on only one phrase.

I think the word filter is a pretty new toy to these forums, and right now there's going to be some mistakes and odd things with it. We had one that we had to fix because it was autochanging a word even if that word came as part of another word. Like Pass, Sass, Crass, Lass... all got turned into butt making for some pretty interesting but incomprehensible reading.
If you or anyone else finds anything like either one of these examples in the future please send a PM to a Mod.

That also goes for the under 18 pictures thing. Before a week ago it really wasn't a rule but something some older people (not mods or admin) had enforced themselves. It is a good example of what we are trying to prevent on these forums... people making up rules because they think that it should be that way, and then enforcing them to the point of harassment... those made up rules become so ingrained into society that people actually start to believe that they are true and will lynch anyone who breaks them.
BUT
A week past we had a discussion on whether or not this should actually be included in the rules. And we the Mods and Admin came to an agreement that it should. Because of the recent problems on the forums we seemed to have over looked it.
Please don't consider this as a allowance to start posting pictures of people under 18 until we put it in the rules. Because while it isn't in the rules at the moment, we will still be enforcing it until it does get put into the rules. As of last week it currently falls under:
"Note that the following guidelines are not exhaustive, and may not address all manner of offensive behavior. As such, the forum moderators shall have full discretion to address any behavior that they feel is inappropriate."

I'm sorry, I may have read into it more sarcasm than was there. I thank you for the answer to my question and all the information that you have provided. I asked that question to other people and didnt get an answer at all so I appreciate that you took the time to actually provide one. I didnt choose to 'pounce' on that phrase. I read the entire post. Found the first paragraph of that post to be very helpful and just what I was looking for. There was no 'selective' reading. I read the whole thing, as I normally do. The second paragraph of that post just gave off a vibe to me that, like I stated before, put me on the defensive. It all boils down to, if that post was only the first paragraph, my question would have been answered. I would have read it, said thank you and left. You decided to add to it something that I'm sure I'm not the only one who felt wasnt in the most helpful sense. I am trying to defend my feelings in the most respectful way I can. Either way, I asked my question, I got my answer, I said thank you and I'm out cause once again, I am defending myself and I'm getting the feeling that it is only going to end in me getting in trouble in some way.
Thank you,

Hehe. I get yelled at for absolutely every choice I make on this site, from sending out warnings or even just replying in a thread and being friendly. So yeah. I get yelled at and insulted more often. It's a little grating sometimes, but I do my best not to let it effect anything I do here.
That's not to say I don't get any thank-yous. Those are always nice and uplifting. And sometimes even surprising when they come from unexpected sources.

I think getting yelled at comes with the territory. You can't please everyone and there will always be some people that aren't happy with a decision you've made.
Having said that, I've received lots of thank you messages. I just forget about the nastiness and concentrate on the job at hand. When people take the time to thank you for what you are doing it makes the negativity easy to ignore.

Well said Emma, took the words right out of my mouth.
I think I receive compliments more than complaints. It makes being a mod easier
I do get the occasional, "You're a boy on missbimbo!
!". I tend to ignore them lol.

Hmm..... Thats a tough one,I do most certainly get yelled at and insulted however as Emma said you cant please everyone.it comes with the territory.I get more "HELP" me messages than anything else.I also get the thank yous and in the end those make the you blankety blank messages fade away. The thank you's and help me messages remind me daily why I agreed to be a mod.

There are so many problems with the game why in the world is there so much focus on the forum? We don't pay for the forum our money goes into this game and it is basically getting wasted, I think the owners won't fix the problems because they will get more money if they don't!!

Well thank you very much for answering my question in so much depth, I really wasn't expecting that... and the honesty is refreshing, I thought I was losing my mind wondering why we had this thread with so many help threads out there. Do you ever consider adding new mods? What would it take to become a mod?
Edit: that does it. I'm an official thread killer.

The need for mods is decided by Administration not by the mods.I hope this answers your question. currently the only new mods being considered were announced by IzzyFairy in her search for a couple of mods for the foreign language section. they must have an ability to read, write and speak a foreign language as well as be fluent in English .The way Eldan is.
Also since moderating the forums is a team effort would be mods need to have an ability to work well with other mods in spite of personality differences.moderating Miss Bimbo is a volunteer position moderators are not paid.
