i just go to the mall and buy whatever i like and whatever i can afford, and i can't afford much.
I'm with you. And you can create some amazing outfits very cheaply, without having to have a brand name slathered across it. As for standing the test of time : fashion is fickle, and it really isn't worth spending a small fortune on 'this seasons' fashions.

I mix and match and love the sales

I would say it depends on the piece of clothing. If you are buying something to do with leather or an elaborate dress then brand or price will usually make a huge difference to the quality.
When its something like a pair of jeans, no, not at all, if anything the cheaper the better.

I'm really frugal when I buy clothes, I'd much rather get deals on things that I know I'm going to wear out because I love them, not just because they last longer, than something that yes, I will be able to wear forever, but frankly gets boring. Imperfections make your clothing INTERESTING, because I think 'quality' clothing is boring looking.
and also: that whole "brand name last longer" isn't true. they're manufactured same as any other piece of clothing, with exceptions of big name designers like Michael Kors, but are sold at high mark ups because of supply and demand and the fact that people will buy into the adage that it lasts longer. I can't tell you how many times I'd been given jeans from places like Aeropostale and Abercrombie, only to have a seam bust in a few weeks, to the point where I now refuse to wear that clothing.

While I like items from both ends of the spectrum, I like to get the most for my money. To me shopping just isn't fun unless I'm getting some sort of a deal and an item I love.
I do get tired of hearing people rant and rave about brands like Hollister, Abercrombie, etc. I personally don't think that's 'high fashion,' nor do I appreciate having my ear talked off about them.

i think its all about mixing stuff. like with make up ill only buy ysl foundation and clinique skincare but stuff like eyeliner which i get through really quickly ill buy any cheap version. same with clothes, all brands, designer or primark do somemthing thats great. just as long as ur not head to toe in one brand, like yesterday i wore my miss sixty shorts with a primark tshirt and d&g bag. nobody could guess the tshirt was primark cos it fit with the whole outfit so well. its stupid to be against high street or designer cos theyre both really good for certain things.
as for abercrombie, its def less high street in london cos its exactly twice the price of the american branches

for me, its the cheaper the better.
ill only buy brand stuff if its in the sale.
It makes me feel so much better when i know how much ive saved from the retail price.
your supposed to enjoy shopping and i enjoy it a lot more when ive "saved" money.

I like brand names when I'm resale shopping. That way, I know the used item I buy will probably last longer. Otherwise I just look at and feel the fabric for its quality.
