Mine today was gonium.
According to the dictionary...
is a genus of colonial algae, a member of the order Volvocales. Typical colonies have 4 to 16 cells, all the same size, arranged in a flat plate, with no anterior-posterior differentiation. In a colony of 16 cells, four are in the center, and the other 12 are on the four sides, three each.

I tried to read through that, but my eyes start skipping about 4 words in...

One of mine today was "miscuts", something to with stamp collecting apparently, but none of the main dictionary sites recognized it.

These words are why I don't try to guess the word, I just try to guess letter placement.  It may sound like the same thing, but it's not.  I'll get a word on the 4th try and look at it and go- Oh I know that word! Then laugh cause I didn't even see it.

Okay, today I got "mastix". I cannot find the definition of mastix. I can find Mastic but I don't thing mastix is an appropriate plural spelling.
Does anyone know what a mastix is or can you find me a dictionary definition for it?
