Is it wrong that I don't feel terrible for the animals?
Their death honestly doesn't bug me at all. Their treatment, yes, but we're hurting the whole planet right now with EVERYTHING. Eating animals that may have had a bad life doesn't strike me as any more amoral than opening up another manufacturing plant that kills of a whole forest, driving your SUV, buying any good or service that has been transported by air, etc.
We can see their pain, which makes it hurt righthere/rightnow, but we are doing far worse things.
Better to eat food of either type grown locally and treated well before the harvest (this includes animals but also sprays and fertilizers on plants--things that end up ruining rivers, bays and streams and killing wildlife).
those are my thoughts anyway.

I considered being vegetarian for years
I don't know why I didn't do it sooner, I guess I was an insecure teenager not wanting to stand out.
Anyway I became vegetarian 3 years ago
Then I decided to go vegan just on one day last year

I've considered it for the face that vegetarian omit less CO2.
I'm not really bothered about the animals - they were farmed to be killed. And I couldn't have a double standard, like no eating meat and yet wearing leather.

I wouldn't ever even consider becoming a vegan. I happen to love meat very much so it is impossible for me to stop eating it..
And it would take too much work to make sure I'd get everything I need if eating only veggies. Plus I don't think the conditions for the animals are that bad.

i love meat too much. and nandos... but a really close friend of mine is veggie, his best thing is tofu, it absorbs the taste of anything you cook it in, so cook it in herbs. or if you really like meat you could find some beef/chicken essence kinda thing, i know that tescos sells them, theyre not cheap but they taste just like chicken lol
and pastas always a winner xxx

I was vegetarian for 2 years but I got sick so I started eating meat and fish again otherwise doctors wanted me to have blood analisis each 2 months :S. And I tried that but it was too hard for me because the analisis left me so weak...that I always ended up ill after one.
So hello meat and fish again. And I love vegetables now, specially the burguers that are made with algae (I´m not sure if this is the right word in english)

I used to be a veggie when I was little, but not any more. I eat very healthy which means lots of fruit and veg and NO processed poopery! I only eat lean meat and I like quorn too
My bro is a veggie and has been for years.
Would I ever consider becoming a veggie? Sure, it really wouldn't be a big deal to me. I love fruit and veg so much

I think that all animals should have a good life, no matter how short. Hence why I don't eat veal.
I love meat but I eat free range and local. Hate vegetables and most fruits. Never ever being veggie! I admire people who are though. Vegan could be silly, it doesn't hurt a chicken to eat it's eggs, especially when it hasn't been exposed to a cockerel.

im thinking of becoming one, but i know my mum wont like it.. and also i dont know how im gonna live without meat !! x

Yup. I was a vegetarian for one/two week/s when I was 13, but my parents didn't like it, so they forced me to eat meat. But now I know I won't be able to become vegetarian. I'm too addiced.
But I hope someday I can do it, because I don't feel very well eating maybe childrens, moms... dads, so on. Living things that actually DID feel something before they lied on my dish.

I love my meat. In history pre the great ice age, there was actually 4 races of humankind, Neathodol who flourished in the ice age, but couldn't survive the post ice age weather (with a helping hand from homosapiens Im sure
), the Homo Erectus whose extinction is a mystery: A vegetarian Race who died out in the early ice age, as they couldn't or wouldn't eat meat or hunt & of course our direct ancestors who were game, hunters, gatherers, adaptable & became the soul humans to inherit he Earth. They ate meat in the ice age. I won't ever be a vegetarian. It is said anther ice age is on it's way due to global warming so ....

lol True that.
Anyway, no, I wouldn't be a vegetarian and I could never be vegan. Animals eat each other, humans are animals too, and all the vegans I know look so sick all the time. Not that they all are, but it's easier to take care of yourself when you have access to meat. It's easier to be happy when you don't have to stress and fuss of meal time rules and restrictions.

I have considered to become a vegiterian coz I dont really like meat except maybe chicken and I pity the animals that are killed for meat. But it is hard especially to find substitues for the proteins in meat. Vegan I think is just too much not eating meat and the products produced by animals such as eggs, milk etc. Vegan's are those with the least healthy diet I think.

i'm currently a picerian [i eat fish] because my mum cooks for me and i don't want to make life difficult for her, but when i move out [in a few months or so] i'm going to go vegeterian.
this is because i believe that most animals have conscious thought - that they think like us. i don't think that most insects and some fish do, but i'm sure that dogs, cows, mice and many others do. therefore, i feel that eating beef is like eating a person.
i would never go vegan, because dairy cows are treated well, and eggs would never become chickens, because they're not fertilised. as long as the chickens are free range i don't see how becoming vegan would benifeit anybody.
anyone who eats pork/bacon/ham should visit this site to keep informed =]

I'm not a real vegitarian to be honest but I rarely eat meat 2-3 times a week is the most.
