You have a total of 46 chromosomes where 23 are from your mother and 23 are from your father. Your insides and outsides are determined by your mother and father's sweet donation of genetics to you. So, why wear makeup and try to hide your true beauty? Why hide what you should be proud of?
Makeup is an enhancement, ladies, not a mask. You shouldn't be wearing concealer, eyeliner, eyeshadow and/or lip gloss/stick every day. It's for special occasions, you know? Not to hide your skin.
Sure, I can understand why people wear it if there's something like a really horrible scar that you got during a knife fight that one night down at The Dirty Scallions or something but just because you have a zit, a freckle or a line doesn't mean you should cake on some pale and fake.
You may see makeup as being apart of who you are but that pretty much just means you're lying to yourself. If you feel uncomfortable looking at yourself without makeup and your face nice and bare, well, there's something seriously wrong with you.
Your opinion is merely your own and mine is merely my own. Neither are right now wrong, so let us remember that, alright?
Smile, your epidermis is showing!

But some people might feel really uncomfortable with themselves and have no confidense. People who wear make-up might know that it doesn't make them look that different, but they want to feel better about themselves. Sure, they're kidding themselves but it makes them happy and confident.

I'm not saying you're wrong or anything but don't you think that if they need makeup to fee confident that it's a little... wrong? I have a friend who won't even go to school if she doesn't have powder foundation, liquid foundation, stick eyeliner, liquid eyeliner, dark black eyeshadow and some stuff to make her lips pale. She CRIES if she is even missing one of them from her little routine. You can't tell me that isn't sick.

I wear make up because i like it. And i like the way i look with it on. But that doesn't mean i dislike the way i look without it because i don't. And i am not kidding myself at all. I don't think its fair to judge people on the amount of make up they wear because they may wear that amount because they like it and it may give them more confidence and i don't think it is right for you to say there is something seriously wrong with someone if they are uncomfortable with the way they look without make up.

As I said before, your opinion is your own and as is mine. Thanks for your input.

i agree with you but its only fair people do what they want? the media is obsessed with perfection and lack thereof. its not gonna change but hypothetically i disagree with makeup

i wear make up because i like how it looks on me,
to be honest it looks mainly natural, except like my mascara
and eyeliner and sometimes eye shadow. but my foundation
and blusher look completely naturall. i dont see the problem
with make up. and also i like makeup, i enjoy experimenting
with it too change my look!

i dont see the problem with it , people can wear it to make themselves feel better , so ifthey have a spot on their chin they wear make up to make it less visible and make them feel better about themselves . I dont agree with it though when people really pile it on , that is uneccesary i think , just light and natural is good enough

I wear makeup everyday because I like it, I have fun playing around with my makeup everyday and trying new colors. I don't see it as any different than putting on different clothes or accessories. Makeup doesn't have to be for special occasions unless you want it to be, and if someone doesn't want to wear it at all that's fine too. I think it's a bit harsh to judge everyone who wears makeup as someone who is trying to lie to themself or trying to hide something.

Not once did I say it was about everybody who wears makeup. It was targeted at the girls who cake it on so that it's like half an inch think because they don't like their face. The ones who literally only wear makeup because they want to look like something else.

I agree, I think that it is important that if women do wear makeup it should enhance their beauty not completely drown it. Too many people do not know how to wear makeup, it can be frustrating. I do wear makeup myself, and I have to say that I do at least have to wear mascara and eyeliner even when swimming. Thank goodness there is waterproof stuff now ^_^

I love my mask!
why; because i look airbrushed perfect while everybody else has hideous red cheeks or zits or whatever.
However, my bf likes me without make up on, which is fine cause i know he loves me for who i am, so he can appreciate how i look (i do look nice without it, but even better with it).

Here is the thing people wear make-up. Some wear it and others let make-up wear them But I am sure the people that you think are wearing too mauch makeup see them selves as beautiful. AS THEY SHOULD!
I personally don't have peirccings - not even ear peircings or tatoos. I could talk about self mutilation but an some cultures it is considered beautiful and normal.
Who am I to pass judgement.

I wear makeup. The way I look without it is pure crap. D; I have a naturally red face with acne. So I need foundation so that I don't feel like people are staring at my face. =/ The rest is usually optional. But I prefer adding the other stuff to add more dimension. For example, my eyes have mild tosis, so I always look sleepy...with eye shadows and stuff, it looks exotic, instead.

You do not look like you are wearing too much, your skin looks fresh and natural in pic.

If they want to do that then it's their face and their choice to look however they want. I'm all for having an opinion but I just don't see the point in judging people like that.

I think the main problem here is that the girls who let the make-up be a mask for them have other insecurities that need to be addressed.
These insecurities can be transformed into securities through make-up, clothes and attitude. Anything that gives someone any feelings of self-worth, security and confidence are a good thing. At some point they will have to address the actual crux of the problem, but for now, let them ruin their own shirts with make-up rings and lipstick stains. It's a security blanket.

I wear makeup because pretty isn't important to me. Although my appearance is made up of my mother and father... I'm my own person, and we aren't all lucky enough to be born with a face that reflects our personality. I would be said by many people to have a beautiful face, but it's not a face I feel says anything about who I really am, so i wear a mask of myself to cover up what is essentially an accident

I dont mind wearing no make-up at all infront of my friends , cause i dont look to different with/without make-up , but my face needs foundation when i go out ! and i mean needs it , its so weirdly coloured.

I wear make up but it looks natural. I would hate to walk out with that tell tale tide mark round your face so it looks like a great orange mask on your face.
I don't wear lots but having on what I do makes me feel better about how I look as I can cover up any spots etc and it's nice to have fun with it when I'm going out at night - diff eyeshadows etc.
I hate the look that some girls have gong on - orange foundation, loads of bronzer in 2 stripes across their face & big black eyes!! To me, not nice but each to their own I suppose & if that makes you feel good then up to you.
