The thing is you can wear a lot of makeup and not look unnatural... it's all about technique

I agree. My friend is soooo good at applying make up, she can do these dark, smoky eyes that look really pretty & classy at the same time. If I tried I'd look like I'd been in a fight!!

Then they're fine with me. If they don't look like their face is 5 shades off from the rest of their skin, every freckle on their face that you know is there is TOTALLY gone due to the 5 shades off thing and you can see the lines of makeup piles from their facial movements, they're fine with me.

Everybody knows you need 3 inches thick of makeup to achieve that natural look.
Offline

I wear makeup because it enhances beauty. I dont cake it on, the point is to make it look natural.
Offline

Lol actually you dont need 3 inches, lets be realistic. Makeup is usually used to even out skin tone, especially those with skin discoloration due to scarring, or sun damage, and etc. So obviously people with perfect skin dont need to use makeup. Those with perfect skin dont see why people would need to wear makeup.. just saying

Of course the point is to look natural and to enhance one's beauty. Instead everyone here has chosen to moan about girls who don't know how to apply make-up and/or match tones to theirs. Stop complaining and go teach these girls proper techniques.

I hate when girls don't use make-up because they are lazy and don't care about them selfs and I find it to be lack of confidance because they are scared of atention they might get.
No, not realy. I don't give a penny what someone else is doing-not doing to his/hers face... But fast judgements do make me wanna say Yuck! (and those judgments allways say more about the judge, then they say about those who have been judged
)

I have acne scars all over my face, and i hate that people say that!
You cant just say "oh, be proud of youre self" when there is nothing to be proud of.
And i know im hiddious, and everyone else seems to feel the same about me.

you are not hideous! Get that out of your head please. Yes wear makeup to give you confidence. The scars will fade over time make up is here for a reason,
We are always our worse critics. If I put on 10 pounds ifeel like a cow and everybody is looking at me; yet I do not jussdge people that are over weight. I covered my freckles for years cause I thought they were ugly, every body else thought they wer cute or prety etc. even my curly hair I hated and straightened every day till I finally decided to embrace who I am but I still wear make up to blend these darn freckles!

is even skin tone natural? lorelailee i was totally about to write paragraphs to you till i realised you were getting at the generalisations and judging. lol

I wear quite a lot of makeup... largely because my face unmade up tends towards the "aww, cute" and the way I want to look it a bit more "Eee gads, a monster"... if I could I'd probably choose to look like dee snyder... though if given the choice between looking like him and a young bowie, I'd choose bowie.
As to evening out the skin tone, I have excellent skin, but I wear foundation as it helps everything else stick better.

I like wearing make up as i think it looks good on me plus it hides the few spots that i have but i do try and make it look natural as possible.

i gotta say i agree with the general theme of this post: caked on make-up is gross, but the argument that "you don't need it because you're beautiful the way you are" is short-sighted. 70% of women will suffer from acne at some point in there lives (including many adults), and there are multiple studies finding that acne causes HUGE psychological effects. if you have naturally bad skin (or are just going through a phase) and you use a lot of make-up to hide it, i don't think that's wrong. you ARE beautiful for who you are... but some people feel that they NEED makeup to hide the acne, rosacea, or scarring that covers up their natural beauty!

I wear make-up because I enjoy putting it on....... dunno why but I could spend hours just because its kinda calming!!

i wear makeup that looks naturally, and i have no problems with that! not because i am insecure, but because as humans it's in our nature to want to project the person we feel we are.

You're all for self confidence, and makeup makes some people feel confident, so why shoot it down like that? ( saying that in the nicest sense). Like some have said before, it's no different to changing clothing and acessories every day , or how you wear your hair that day.
