Is this something that you could be discussing privatly with a nurse or doctor?

Its not as bad as it sounds, at most its uncomfortable. If you are scared about the procedure you should talk to your DR and ask them anything that you are concerned with.

yeah but i wana know what it is. i wouldnt really wanna make an appointment to ask a question when its probably just a normal ultrasound and im being stupid. i just want someone to tell me where they do it and if it requires me to be naked.

Is google not working for this? I know sometimes Google poops out on me if I have a health issue. I'm so sorry.
Hmm... no idea. But eh, you really get over doctors looking down there after your first time having it happen, so no worries. Its their job, and they don't particularly care.
Though if it IS as terrible as it sounds, you can always promise yourself a big banana split at the end!!! ;3

ok i think im gonna see if i can just have the pelvic and see what the results are before seeing about that. i havent had any sexual partners so i find that idea quite distressing. im a little surprised just how much that panicked me though. it made me cry haha. i think im maybe childishly frigid xD

I've gotten them twice because of my PCOS, just to verify the diagnoses. It is indeed, very uncomfortable, but luckily, you'll have an empty bladder for it. It amused me the second time 'cause my doctor slipped a condom on the part he was using on me. >.<

Man, that's just a fear to get over. If your doctor is suggesting you have a test done, just do it. It will only take a few minutes of your life, and it could solve whatever your health problems are. I hear so many people my age talking about how they won't go for PAPs and stuff because it makes them uncomfortable. That's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard. I had precancerous cells show up on my cervix when I was only 16 and had to have them removed to keep from getting cancer. If I had been too squeamish to let the doctor run tests I could have gotten sick. Not to be mean, but suck it up honey!!

If it is a transvaginal, they will ask you to empty your bladder when you get there. They tend to give you the same card for both and then cross off the options, but it sounds like they didn't.
I have had about 4 of these over the last few years, they are nothing to worry about, and aren't even really that uncomfortable. I am not saying they are great, but not as bad as you think they will be. I was dreading my first one, but once it was done I didn't know why I had worried so much. You just have to think that these doctors do this procedure evry day, you are not going to have somthing they have not seen before, and they dont even think twice about it. You are just another patient to them, so dont worry what they think, and for you it is just something you have to have done, so getting worked up about it is going to make things worse.
The reason that they prefer to do this kind of scan as opposed to oe ontop of your belly is because they can get closer to your overies and tubes etc. and get a true thorough look at what is going on. When they do this on top they can't get up to the organs to see them properly. So if I were you I would let them do it this way so that they have a better chance of getting to the bottom of your problem.
