What Age Should I Stop Breastfeeding??
My Son Is 3 And He Enjoys My Breastmilk So Much He Refuses To Drink Anything But Breastmilk.
I Give Him Breastmilk Because I Dont Want Him To Stop Drinking.
Breastfeeding Is Making My Boobs Go Larger And I Enjoy Doing It.
But Is It Affecting My Son?

You will have to stop at some point, he's going to have to learn to drink from a bottle at some point. But I don't think it would affect him, but I'm not totaly sure about that. Sorry.

you know breasfeeding is the best thing a mother can do for the baby, every day he is drinking on you his immune system is growing stronger and the less risk he stands by catching any funny illnesses.

But at the same time as they get older dont they need a bit more substance to their diet? Something a bit more solid so that they grow and build strength. I am sure that by 3 most kids are eating solid things?!

The stronger immune thing works up til the child is 6 months after that it's not really building their immune system.

I think by age 18 months it should be stopped. I breastfed 2 of my kids until the age of 6 months. I think if the baby was on a bottle I would take that bottle away around the age of 18 months so why should breastfeeding be any different? Not to mention at age 3 the child is not a baby anymore he/she is a toddler and I dont think toddlers should be breastfed or have a bottle hanging from their mouths. I once heard a story on the news a few years back where a woman actually got into some trouble because she was still breastfeeding her child at the age of 5.

yeah, but breastfeeding is good for your kid, not just until the age of 6 months, well at least that is what i was told by my doc, if you cant carry on breastfeeding after the first 2 weeks, then it is fine because they have already built enough immunity. but the longer you can, the better. im sure she isnt only giving her baby breast milk either, my kid turns 2 next month and she is still on formula because she is a very poor eater, so to make up for most of the vitamins ect.. she isnt getting through foodies, she has her formula. as for her bottle, she drinks out of a glass and cup, but still likes her bottle, so she will have her bottle for as long as she wants, if it soothes her, why not and besides, i have never seen a gr0 kid with a bottle, when they are ready they will leave it,just taking it away from them cauzes distress.

I agree breastfeeding is good for your child, but honestly I dont think any 3 yr old toddler should be sucking on a bottle or being breastfed either one. If a child is not receiving the proper nutrition thru foods there are vitamins than can be dropped into their milk, or chewables as well. I know where I am from (USA) the doctors will tell you that it is best to start breaking your child from a bottle around the age of 18 months. It is very common for most women to breastfeed their babies untill age two, but age 3 is taking it a bit to the extreme if you ask me. Any child at that age is going to be in distress when you take something away that he/she has been comforted by. Thats why you should find other ways to comfort the child when breaking him/her from the habits. Giving in to the child is not going to accomplish anything but the child using those same tactics to get his/her way in the future. Just my opinion. I parent my children they dont parent me. I hope this doesn't sound arguementative, if so that is not my intention.
