Anyone else hear other than me completely obsessed with Stephen King? What are your favorite books? Movies? What are you reading now? Favorite characters?
Right now I'm reading part V in the Dark Tower series. It's a bit hard for me to love, love, love the series because there's just so much to absorb, but it's pretty good. I've read pretty much everything else and I saved these books for last.

My all time fave is The Stand as well. Love it.

I like Stephen King books....think my favourite is either IT, or Christine....have you seen Stephen King's Nightmares and Dreamscapes.....they're good

I love stephen king, too ^_^
My beau got a MESS of movies
and we've been watching them one by one
and some of them are really good. It's funny, though, because there's a few good ones and the other ones clearly follow a predictable formula.
But The Stand, Carry, The Shining . . . good stuff.

The Stand is the definitive King novel for me. M-O-O-N, that spells Tom Cullen!
Felonia, there are very few decent screen adaptations of his work, imo. Some are just downright awful! I did love the mini-series of The Stand, with Gary Sinise and Molly Ringwald. The Dark Man was so scary in that!
XPlayxBunnyx, I've never watched Nightmares and Dreamscapes. Is it scary?

I love a lot of his books but there are a few I really hate too
I either like his books or hate them. A few I liked: The mist, Misery, carrie and a few of his short stories

i read a lot of his books in high school but they were the old ones like christine and carrie, there was more but i can't remember them now. i don't like scary movies but i use to like reading about it, it seems less scarier to me.

I've read Carrie (it wasn't scary at all, but it was extremely depressing...), The Shining and Pet Sematary - plots weren't the best I've ever seen, but I like King's style of writing. I'd love to read more of his books; I've got Duma Key waiting for me

Christine is my favorite book.

I really enjoyed Christene, IT and Carrie.
But top of the list, my all time favourite book - The Green Mile, and I think it was made into a beautiful film too.

Stephen King is a good read once in a while. I've never seen a movie, but my favorite books of his include IT, Cell, and Dreamcatcher. I couldn't get into the Dark Tower series.

Christine and Secret Window were two of my all time favorite. I plan on reading Green Mile soon.

The Green Mile was my favorite book/movie for a while. Very powerful stuff, and a good switch from horror writing to drama. My mom bought the original series of The Green Mile (King wrote The Green Mile in parts as opposed to one whole book) but unfortunately my friends baby sister colored in all of them. They bought a replacement but it was the whole novel in one.
The Stand movie is my favorite movie aside from The Sandlot. I love Gary Sinise and who could turn down ROB LOWE! Gah he's so hot in the movie.

I liked some of the stories in that TV series. I think it's called, "The End of the Whole Mess" about creating world peace and suffering the consequences of it. The short story was awesome too. But the rest I didn't really like...like "Crouch End." AH but the toy soldier one was okay, lol.

Totally forgot about Rob Lowe! He was unbearably cute as Nick. But I always had a thing for Gary Sinise, and Stu Redman in the novel, so Nick was kinda cast aside for me.

I like him and I dont like him.......The Shining is in my top all time favorite films so I have to credit him for that and I love IT until the giant space spider shows up and The Mist is one of the best short stories you could ask for. He has amazing ideas but then towards the end alot of times they get goofy, like he cant think of a way to end it properly.
Then I got upset over the whole in real life when the guy in the van ran into him while he was jogging. SK was over the top cruel to him and he ended up killing himself.
LoL what I just wrote is a little confusing, if you understand what I am getting at..YAY

Yeah, I thought so too. He wasn't even jogging was he? I thought he was walking down the road reading a book or something. I could have just made that up though..I don't know. But either way, he was a bastard to the guy and it was irritating.
Anyway, I love King books and short stories. You Know They've got a Helluva Band was really good, as was The Long Walk. That one was creepy scary because of the good chances of it happening in reality. It wasn't supernatural at all.
He also wrote the stories The Running Man and Stand By Me were based on.
I LOVED the Dark Tower Series. Pretty much I loved everything he's ever writeen.

You are right, he was walking and reading at the same time. I'm not sure how he was a horrible to the guy (I never read much on it) but I think I'd be pretty POed if someone hit me with a car. I think the guy was actually turning around to take care of his dog in the back. So he wasn't paying attention.
And yes, The Running Man was awesome, because that too can happen in real life. And The Long Walk is one of my favorites.

I'm a huge Stephen King fan. I love his books. The Green Mile was life changing for me. I loved the book and the movie was so good too. My favorite book has to be Needful Things. I really hated the movie they made of it though. I really like his short stories, too. Some of these are my favorite writings by him.

Well, I'd be pissed too but I also wouldn't be walking against traffic reading a book. But that's just me.
Maybe I'm cunfusing things and it was his fans that were awful to the guy, I don't know, but I thought I remembered him being sort of really mean to the guy. The guy shouldn;t have been trying to get the dog situated while driving, thats true too. But if i recall correctly, the dog was getting into a cooler or something and he turned around for a second? I don;t know-I've taken my eyes off the road for a second as well. I don;t think many people haven't, if we're to be honest.
It doesn't take away from him being an awesome wirter at all, and I didn't mean it that way. Also, as I said, I'd harbor ill feelings towards someone who critically injured me too. I can definately see both sides of the story here.

I love The Stand and The Green Mile among many other books and stories he has written. My favorite is The Girl who Loved Tom Gorden.
